I cannot get past screen prompting me to open an account. l am not interested in that feature. Really was hoping for a paid version in order to avoid the account thing, of course developers need to be paid somehow. update: I went ahead and did the account anyway, but soon uninstalled the app as it was sending constant notifications of auroras being viewed alaska, even though I set my location for Southeast michigan.

As mentioned in the app description, an account is required to use the app due to community features and to maintain a clean, spam-free environment. If you do not wish to create an account, the app may not be suitable for your needs.

I wish I could say that this app is wonderful as it seems to be a really good idea with excellent features to make aurora watching seriously easy. Sadly, unless you are prepared to pay or live in or near a Scandinavian country it is probably going to be pretty useless. In the UK the opportunity to watch aurora is very limited, making the paid option none viable, but there will be a bombardment of alerts for it being visible far away. I deleted after being kept awake by constant notifications.

We're currently working on improving the experience for users outside the traditional 'aurora zone.' Since the UK has seen such high activity lately, we’d love to understand more to know how we can make our alerts more relevant to your specific location. Please share your thoughts with us at [email protected]. Cheers!

Toolwise is exceptional, the best app and the one that I used to see and have amazing pictures of the aurora 3 times in the last 10 days. BUT while I was using it, a key function in my opinion (moments) went from available to requiring a registeration. I understand that you need people to be registered in order to post pictures for security reasons and control, but to watch others' pictures? I feel it's unnecessary.

Users viewing photos is what cost us the most, hundred of dollars. We are only two passionate working on this project during our spare time. We had to find a way to minimize the number of views and a better to control on our costs. That's the best trade-off we found, hope you understand. Cheers
